3RCC publishes report on animal use in Swiss science

The Swiss 3RCC publishes a report with information on the number of licenses and number of animals broken down by year, research area and purpose, species, and degrees of severity.

Alongside the yearly report on the use of animals used in research in Switzerland, the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office also releases more in depth information from licenses which expired during quarterly time windows for that year. Researchers at the Swiss 3RCC took that information from 2017 to the end of 2019, and categorised each of the expired licenses into a specific research area. In this report, you can find information on the number of licenses and number of animals broken down by year, research area and purpose, species, and degrees of severity. Please feel free to use and distribute this report for your own purposes, we simply ask you reference the Swiss 3RCC whenever doing so.

You can find the PDF of this report here.
